If you were at the Festival of Fear this past weekend, you may have noticed that we were selling The New Horror Handbook, by Aaron Berman. What makes this tome particularly interesting (to RM fans, anyhow), is the chapter on Rue Morgue, in which a bunch of us here at the mag are interviewed. So if you wanna know more about the world of Rue Morgue and the folks that make it — not to mention read other interviews with the likes of Steve Niles, Eli Roth, Greg McLean, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, plus the people behind Ginger Snaps — snag it. It’s full of juicy tidbits! Learn how Gary modeled the mag after the Necronomicon, hear all about Jovanka’s sex scandal with the Wolfman, find out how Monica causes hideous accidents so she has plenty of morbid facts to write about, and I reveal my secret recipe for BBQing lost tourists. Scintillating stuff!

Find it here.

  2. Congrats on the plug. I remember back when you released Rue Morgue Issue 72 with pages full of history and behind-the-scenes information, it was my favorite issue! Its always great to see how something like Rue Morgue got its beginnings and so exciting to hear whats planned for the future. Gary deserves so much credit for his design-savvy, crafting the look of the magazine which is 10 times ahead of its competitors and non-competitors alike.

It’s a great book. One of the best on the subject. Being a big Saw fan, I especially like all that stuff. And Cube, which is Very underrated.

  4. Asmodeus says:

Cube is very much underated. Although, after Saw 1, Saw is the extremely over rated. I liked Saw when it was called Dr. Phibes.
